Alastair Purdy founded the practice in 2006 after a career that included advising employers at Ibec and holding senior HR positions within major organisations. That combination of legal and operational experience helped shape the firm's approach: advice informed by the decisions and pressures facing businesses.
Since then, Alastair Purdy LLP has grown beyond its employment law foundations into a wider business law practice. Today, we advise Irish and international organisations on operational matters, transactions and disputes. We consider what each issue means for the client, explain the available options and provide continuity through implementation or resolution.

In 2019, we began rethinking the systems behind our service, starting with the move towards a paperless practice. That was the beginning of a wider transition, not the destination. Today, we invest in specialist software, digital matter and document management, electronic workflows and appropriate automation to reduce routine administration, improve turnaround and increase capacity. The objective is straightforward: more time for legal judgement and client engagement, supported by a more responsive service.
